EXHIBITION "FACADE" in the gallery-workshop "SKOLKOVO" Automatic translate
December 18 at 19.00 in the gallery-workshop "Skolkovo" Association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" will open the artistic and architectural project "Facade" , raising the theme of the identity of the architectural environment. The aim of the project is to change the angle of view of residents on the familiar city landscape.
The FASAD exhibition is the first stage of a study devoted to the comprehensive study of the Mozhaisk district. The subject of study was typical housing buildings - brick five-story buildings, "Khrushchev", high-rise buildings - faceless and identical. The objective of the project is to change the angle of view of residents on a familiar city landscape.
The word "facade" comes from lat. “Facies” - face, image. Traditionally, the front is called the front of the building. Obviously, the connection of the main wall of the house with the face is not accidental.
Previously, people built their own homes for themselves, so by the very appearance of the building it was possible to understand who lives inside. With the advent of standard construction, the connection of the facade with the inhabitants hidden behind it is gradually lost. Buildings have become similar to each other.
Does this mean that the same people live in the same houses?
Each apartment is a world with its own rules, traditions, folklore and humor. There is a special relationship between the apartments. And looking at the house outside, one can only guess about it.
The exhibition develops the theme from several sides. Firstly, introduces residents to the houses in which they live. Namely, who and when designed a certain type of building, when they were built and whether there are still areas in Moscow where the same high-rise buildings stand. The exposition is built in chronological order according to the stages of development of the area. Drawings and statistics are compared with real life. One wall in each room is dedicated to drawings and photographs of local residents that accumulate during the study.
The viewer is in the inside-out space. The outer part of the facade is in the interior, so the visitor opens the “wall”, can look into the window and examine its inhabitants.
What is hidden behind the “identical” windows of typical facades?
Interactivity:
1. The exhibition involves active work with the local community.
2. Children living in the Mozhaysky district will present their vision of the inner life of the house at the exhibition, their works will be included in the exhibition.
3. “Behind the facade” - a photo project in which residents of the houses send photos of their apartments.
