On the Night of Museums, May 15 at 18.00, the exhibition "Dynasty" opens in the Perm Gallery, which will present the works of six artists of three generations belonging to the famous Moscow art dynasty of Arendts.
Easel sculpture, ceramics, textile collages, objects, ceramics, graphics, painting - more than 120 works covering a period of almost 100 years - from 1920s to 2021. The artistic branch of the Arendt family begins with Ariadna Alexandrovna Arendt (1906-1997). At different periods of her life, she was connected by family ties with Meer Bentsianovich Aizenshtadt (1895-1961) and Anatoly Ivanovich Grigoriev (1903-1986) - and these are not only the lines of fate, but also the general school of VKHUTEMAS, where in the 1920s they simultaneously studied…
The exhibition is based on the works of Anatoly Ivanovich Grigoriev (1903-1986) - a remarkable sculptor, well known in professional artistic circles, mainly in Moscow, but practically unfamiliar to the Perm viewer, although he comes from the Perm Territory (born in the village of Gainy, Perm province), and the original He received his art education in art-industrial workshops in Kudymkar organized by P.I.Subbotin-Permyak.
The personality of Grigoriev had a huge impact on the life of the Arendt family as a whole and on each artist individually, became a kind of bonding material. "The spirit of Grigoriev" still hovers in his studio, where the author’s works are tremblingly preserved by Natalia and Maria, for whom Grigoriev became the first teacher. The themes of this talented artist’s work, as well as the personalities of the creators who inspired him - poets, thinkers, musicians, artists - have become common. One of the main characters is A.S. Pushkin, to whom A.I.Grigoriev’s program works are dedicated. And also - invisibly present in the interweaving of life plots, themes and images - Koktebel and the years of creativity in a common workshop with Ariadna-senior.
It is not so much a matter of kinship as of a spiritual community: this is a creative dialogue of different generations that lasts in time, a spiritual community that grows with new facets and does not lose its relevance, despite the fact that the artists of the older generation who formed it - Ariadne Arendt, Meer Eisenstadt, Anatoly Grigoriev is long gone, and the work of modern representatives of the Arendt dynasty - Natalia, Maria and Ariadne Jr. - is developing in a different stylistic direction.
The Dynasty exhibition will be open to the public until October 3, 2021.
