Quote - Deep Inside

The “Quote” project will bring together 11 artists who will present works of art that illustrate each of their views on what is deep inside the artist’s personality. But it is precisely there that the imprint, once left by something overwhelming, is stored: literary text, painting, musical piece, film. This imprint affects creativity, gives the artist an impetus to go beyond his own reality.

Great people: philosophers, artists, writers, musicians - did not know how their word (in the broad sense) would respond. Each time a person finds a quote related to some current of his soul at the moment, he catches how other people’s words have responded within himself. Isn’t that what the word was said for? Does this kind of inner work pave completely new tracks on which a new train of valuable meanings can pass?

Such meetings of people with meanings is the basis of the artist’s work. Somewhere deep inside his personality, streams of meanings find a quote, use it as an anchor, transform through it and give an impetus to the creation of a work of art. Something new, exceptional and unique. Despite the fact that they were grounded through something existing, reflected in the artist’s soul and were born into the light with a bunch of threads enveloping the artist’s meanings, like a cocoon enveloping a future butterfly.

Artist and physicality

Now there are so many ways of being outside of physicality that being inside yourself becomes some kind of exceptional experience. But is the feeling of "being within oneself" equal to the feeling of "being in the body"? Perhaps the most secret we experience outside the physical side of the dualistic essence of man. Inspiration is something that captivates the artist in other worlds. This is the ascent described by Vyacheslav Ivanov as “a feat of separation and termination, loss and bestowal, detachment from oneself and oneself for the sake of an alien and for the sake of another. But no less feat and descent - a return to objective reality. This feat Ivanov calls the "symbol of the gift." Artists-donors reveal to us the secrets of being, conveying them with the language of imagery, often associated with his predecessor, the artist. Choosing a language is the most responsible decision. Choosing the path of citation, the author turns to the deeper meanings of not only his experience, but also of universal human experience.

Painting

We gave the leading role in the project to painting, as man-made art of pure images. Painting maximally combines the ascent and descent of the artist, conveying internal experience through the physically difficult work of drawing. According to theorist of contemporary art Anatoly Osmolovsky, in recent years it has become clear: technology is aging at an incredible speed, and the picture is valuable for its uniqueness. In the first place is the work of art itself. Osmolovsky calls this situation reflexive modernism. The works that the artists will present are directly related to the context, but they are devoid of postmodern irony and are based on the artist’s reflection on their deepest meanings.
