The exhibition is part of a large project dedicated to the work of artists from small towns in the Moscow region. Visitors will see 23 works by the master in different genres: still lifes, portraits, landscapes made using the oil painting technique. The exhibition opened on November 11, 2023 at the Theater Museum in Zaraysk.
The life and work of the artist Boris Dergachev (1950 – 2016), a recognized master of easel painting, are inextricably linked with the Zaraisk region. He received his first lessons in the studio of Anna Golubkina. Dergachev’s work is dedicated to images of his native city; his heritage includes still lifes, landscapes, genre and subject compositions.
“Zaraisk is known for its centuries-old traditions in fine arts. From this town near Moscow are sculptor Anna Golubkina and graphic artist Fyodor Konstantinov. The amazing atmosphere of such cities creates conditions for creative life,” says Viktor Nasekin, head of the Theater Museum in Zaraysk.
The exhibition presents the artist’s most famous works, such as “The Game of Imagination”, “Autumn Nocturne”, “In the Old Kitchen”, “Farewell to the Bird”, “Time of the Evening Dawn”, “Under the Sign of the Fish”, “Dedication to Yesenin”, etc..
“Boris Dergachev is known as a bright representative of the decorative trend in painting. Among his paintings there are many works of an ideological nature, through which a special philosophical view of life is revealed. In the professional environment, this feature of Boris Viktorovich has been noted more than once - his perception of life as a theatrical performance,” noted the curator of the exhibition, the artist’s wife Tatyana Dergacheva.
Works by Boris Dergachev are in the collections of the Bakhrushinsky Theater Museum, the Zaraisky Kremlin Historical, Architectural, Art and Archaeological Museum, the League art gallery (Kolomna), the Naro-Fominsk Museum of History and Local Lore, as well as in private collections in Russia and Europe.
The exhibition will be open until December 12, 2023 at the address: Zaraysk, st. Krasnoarmeyskaya, 51.
