The exhibition is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the country’s oldest creative union - the Moscow Union of Artists. In their works, well-known metropolitan painters, including academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Arts, show a huge range of artistic and stylistic self-expression within the framework of one school. The goal of the project is to take a fresh look at the work of authors through the prism of time. The exposition, which also includes a small retrospective section, indicates several main directions in the development of the Moscow school of painting of the 20th-21st centuries. The specificity of the realistic depiction of nature is represented by the works of Alexei Sukhovetsky, Ivan Polienko, Vyacheslav Stekolshchikov, Valery Polotnov, Sergei Gavrilyachenko, Nikolai Zaitsev and other masters. The sharpness of color sensation is demonstrated by Viktor Kalinin, Anatoly Lyubavin, Viktor Razgulin, Irina Lotova. The subjective perception of the surrounding world, its creative interpretation is conveyed in the works of Tatyana Nazarenko, Natalia Nesterova, Irina Starzhenetskaya, Olga Bulgakova, Alexander Sitnikov, Natalia Testina. Despite the diversity of creative personalities, pictorial styles, themes and plots, the authors are united by a common desire to acquire spirituality and pictorial freedom.
