Alexey Ivanovich Novikov was born in 1931 in the Oryol region. In his youth he was a submariner, the war was a young man in the Navy, then served as a sailor in the North. Veteran of World War II. Service in the submarine fleet, like no other, forms willpower, courage, develops a special psychology associated with prolonged isolation from the outside world, work in a closed functional space. The future artist went through this school, primarily associated with overcoming fear, learned to feel reality as a kind of integrity, acquired the ability to value peace and meditative peace. He graduated from the Republican Art College named after I.E. Repin in Chisinau, studied at the Academy of Arts of the Latvian USSR. Since 1969 - a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Since 1964 - a regular participant in numerous exhibitions, foreign collective and personal - in the UK, Italy, Singapore, Turkey, France, Germany, Poland, Switzerland. Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. His works are presented in major Russian museums, Russian and foreign collections.
