Creativity Alexander Brashkina began not at an art school or the Academy, and on the street. The author has achieved recognition as a street artist, being in the list of artists in the British gallery Opus Underground along with Banksy and Ben Frost. However, over time, Alexander exchanged the assault on another city wall for anatomical drawing and oil painting.
He came out to the new viewer with a somewhat naive, but very honest position of an artist relying on his own strength, following emotional impulses, believing in the power of inspiration and originality of his own world perception.
The street period of Alexander Brashkin is associated with demonic images, but in his painting he refers to man. In a series of 16 works presented at the exhibition in the Erarta Museum, the artist depicts behind-the-scenes personality, where the moral code is inferior to the rebellion of desires. In addition to the obvious satirical line, Alexander Brashkin offers visions of a different reality, where violence, fornication, and the cult of pleasure naturally coexist.
In his works, the author allows his heroes to abandon morality. In the search for new sensations, in the struggle with his demons and the conscious defeat in this conflict, he breaks through the valuable stream of the unconscious - the alter ego, which does not need to be rated as good or bad.
The characters in the paintings of Brashkin seem to take off for the first time all the restraints and open up the world to us, freed from social attitudes and imposed rules.
