Avarel is one of the most sophisticated techniques in the visual arts. Its possibilities are wide and varied. Working with watercolors requires the artist to maximize concentration of attention, masterly mastery of the brush. The slightest mistake - and the work will simply be "lost." And now, more than one generation of artists, mastering the expressive capabilities of this technique, are fighting its "obstinacy and waywardness."
The regional watercolor exhibition is held once every two years. The Fourth Interregional Exhibition “Watercolor of the Volga Region” will feature more than 130 works by fifty authors from Tatarstan, Chuvashia, the Ulyanovsk Region and Nizhny Novgorod. The subjects of the works cover various genres: portrait, still life, landscape, book graphics. Among the participants of the exhibition are both eminent masters of watercolor: Honored Artists of Russia Tatyana Bykova, Vladimir Velichko, Pavel Rybakov, Honored Artists of Chuvashia Nikolay Andreev, Vladimir Arapov, Valentina Miloslavskaya, folk artists of the Republic of Tatarstan Mikhail Kuznetsov, Alexander Inshakov, and young artists: Natalya Solovyova, Andrey Fomiryakov, Svetlana Volosova, Natalia Antonova and others.
The organizers of the exhibition set as their task the intensification of the work of artists to create works of high artistic level, increasing the interest of viewers in watercolors as a kind of graphics and an independent technique of artistic creation.
The exhibition in the halls of the Gallery of Modern Art will last until April 3, 2016.
