From watercolor to enamel: 40 years in the visual arts.
The exhibition "Watercolor and Enamel: Merging and Absorption", which reveals the artist’s creative path from one painting style to another, is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Tatyana Kozlovskaya and the 30th anniversary of her work in enamel art.
The exhibition presents works created in two painting techniques - watercolors and miniatures on hot enamel, inextricably linked and mutually complementing each other in the work of the author.
Since studying at the School of Art, and then at the Faculty of Architecture of the Institute. I.E. Repin, Tatyana gave her heart to watercolors. For her, watercolor painting is an opportunity to express a creative idea and image, share impressions, create a composition in which the emotional state of the soul will be revealed.
Tatyana Kozlovskaya has been living in Moscow since 1987. The move from her native St. Petersburg to the capital coincided with perestroika, which is changing the life of the country and the fate of people. The architectural past has given way to the enamel present. Self-training in this difficult art form - miniature painting on hot enamel - took place in the process of working in creative cooperatives that create jewelry with enamel. Understanding the technique of writing and all the complexities of the technological process for an artist who sets himself ever higher goals never ends. And the technique of watercolor painting echoes and interpenetrates the technique of miniature writing on hot enamel. 1996 became for Tatiana the beginning of the study of the secrets of icon painting, the comprehension of the stylistic features of Old Russian icon writing and its transposition into a miniature.
In 2004, Tatyana Kozlovskaya was accepted by the enamel artist and artist-designer into one of the best jewelry companies in Russia - TF “Sirin”. The fascinating and complex work of the miniaturist has reached a new level. The company gave Tatyana the opportunity to work with the best Moscow jewelers and improve in all genres of miniatures: icon, portrait, landscape, painting voluminous jewelry (flowers, bouquets, animals). The artist mastered the painting technique using opalescent guilloche enamel. The multicolor of colors, illuminated from the inside by a play of light on a gold or silver guilloche surface, combines with the sparkle of metal and precious stones in a unique piece of jewelry.
Possession of the watercolor technique allowed the artist in miniature painting to achieve transparency of the paint layer, subtle nuances, and soft color transitions. And the miniature introduced the accuracy and sophistication of detailing of individual elements of the composition in the manner of watercolor writing, made it possible to place emphasis on the airy background characteristic of watercolor.
Favorite theme and inexhaustible source of inspiration of the artist - flowers - formed the basis of the works presented to the audience. All copyright works are united by the accuracy of the drawing, following nature and, at the same time, ease and freedom of expression.
Tatyana Kozlovskaya was awarded the silver medal of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia “For Contribution to Russian Culture” and was awarded the Order of Vasily Ivanovich Zuev, Faberge miniature painter, for many years of fruitful creative activity in miniature painting, propaganda of the artistic heritage of Carl Faberge and court miniaturist V. AND. Zueva (1870-1941).
The works of the author were shown at numerous international jewelry and art exhibitions in Moscow and abroad. Now the works of Tatyana Kozlovskaya adorn the private collections of the highest representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and the largest politicians of Russia and Europe.
