Indeed, a series of canvases, painted by the artist on the basis of a three-dimensional model designed for his still lifes, is an experiment that is extremely clear in its logical sequence. Its task is to observe how objects interact with space, with each other and with their reflections, because at a certain stage a mirror appears. It’s not even the outcome that matters here.

Commenting on the result, Valran writes: “When I started this series, I thought about the silence of space or the space of silence and did not imagine that I would reach the looking glass and ghosts. Art is unpremeditated; this is its mysterious task. When you go on a journey, you never know where you will end up.”
