The second season of the project "Street lecture hall. Local history" starts July 19 Automatic translate
The Moscow Museum opens the second season of the project “Street Lecture Hall. Local history. " Like last year, every week the project will move to one of the districts of the capital, where famous Moscow historians and local historians will tell about the history of these places, monuments and legends. In the new season from July to mid-September, the project will cover 10 Moscow districts. Entrance to the lecture is free. The first meeting will be held on July 19 and will be dedicated to China Town.
“The Moscow Museum, as planned, continues its journey through the districts of Moscow. In the summer of 2017, the project “Street Lecture Hall. Local History ”visited 14 districts of Moscow, more than 1,100 students attended lectures. This season we are looking forward to even more interesting Moscow stories and caring participants from a project that started as an experiment, ”says Alina Saprykina, director of the Moscow Museum.
A key component of the project is communication with local residents and cultural institutions of the districts: leisure centers, libraries, cultural centers. Thanks to this, the official story is supplemented by a private, personal one, and the project’s lectures are filled with memories and stories of real people - eyewitnesses of events that you will not find in textbooks. “Street lecture hall. Local History ”is not only information about the main monuments of the district or the type of its development. These are memories of how Margaret Thatcher came to the grocery store in Krylatsky or how schoolchildren met Yuri Gagarin on Leninsky Prospekt after his flight into space, where the best donut donut Zamoskvorechye was located or why the airfield smelled of Izmailovo.
In the 2017 season, the project visited Khamovniki, Zamoskvorechye, Mius, Ramenki and Maryina Roshcha, Nikitsky Boulevard and Shabolovka, Mozhaisk, Gagarinsky, Basmanny districts, as well as Izmailovo, Novogireevo / Perovo, Krylatsky and Preobrazhensky. The new season is new points in the center of Moscow and traditionally sleeping areas.
Lecturers of the new season will be local historians, historians, guides, authors of articles, books and guidebooks Larisa Skrypnik, Pavel Gnilorybov, Denis Romodin, Maria Kalish, Denis Drozdov, Alexander Ivanov, Tatyana Vorontsova, Eugene Pliss, Maria Nikitina.
To prepare the project, a team of almost 20 student volunteers was involved, as well as more than 50 Muscovites of different generations with stories about the areas in which they live or once lived. Everyone who is willing to share memories of different parts of Moscow and their photos is invited to participate in the creation of the project.
