On May 19, 2015, at the initiative of the Association of Russian Cadets at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, the presentation of the “Day at the Museum for Russian Cadets” campaign dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was successfully held. Museum guests were 200 Moscow Suvorovites and a cadet. It is no coincidence that the museum became the venue for the cadet. Museums are the focus of the history and traditions of our state, they preserve the great treasures that convey a lively connection of time and clearly demonstrate the epochs that Great Russia experienced. The museum is the only place where you can see with your own eyes the history of the people and the country.

On the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Russian Military Historical Society, starting in 2016, “A Day at the Museum for Russian Cadets” will become an All-Russian annual project, within which museums will open the doors for Suvorovites and cadets - future defenders of the Fatherland.

On October 14, 1842, the outstanding Russian battle painter Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin was born. At the age of 9, he was assigned to the Naval Cadet Corps. After graduation, Vereshchagin spent some time in military service, after which he entered the famous Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. October 14 will be the day of the annual action “A Day at the Museum for Russian Cadets”.

The purpose of the action is the formation of a cadet respectful attitude towards Russian culture and the continuation of the best traditions of Russian officers, which has always been an example of nobility, education, patriotism and valor.
