On December 11, the Perm Gallery will host an interactive travel exhibition, created especially for children. The authors of the project will try to tell children and adults in an entertaining and humorous way about what painting is. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to find answers to the questions: what is in the artist’s studio, what materials and tools he uses to create paintings, how and why painting developed and changed in different eras. A separate hall of the exhibition will be dedicated to the subject installation "Inside a Picture", which will allow visitors to be "on the other side" of the frame and feel like a hero of a painting.
The exhibition will not feature the usual “adult” annotations and booklets, all information will be adapted for children’s perception. The curators made sure that the acquaintance with the exhibits became emotionally rich and meaningful. A free guide book with captivating short stories about paintings and vivid, memorable illustrations will come to the aid of children and adults. Also in the halls will be shown a series of cartoons "Oil on canvas", created by museum teachers of the Perm Gallery. And some of the items at the exhibition can be touched and even sniffed. For example, tactile labels with pieces of painted canvas or with the smell of an old painting. Another highlight of the project is the opportunity to feel like an artist and try your hand at creating painting, not real, but virtual.A program for hand tracking recognition based on neural network technology was developed especially for the exhibition. This program allows you to create virtual pictures on the screen using hand movements. Visitors will be able to upload finished works to the Perm Gallery website, where an online exhibition of virtual painting will be created.
Evgeniya Naymushina, curator of the exhibition: “We want our visitors - big and small - to get a very special experience and new experience within the walls of a classical museum. Our entire exhibition is conceived in such a way as to make a visit to the gallery, perhaps the first in life, enjoyable and memorable. "
“The Perm Art Gallery is a fundamental cultural institution of the region, and our partners and friends. Last year, together with the gallery, we made an educational exhibition "The Chemistry of Painting". The children were told about the history of the creation of paints, about the work of restorers and were given the opportunity to try to make paints and paint with them. It was a traveling exhibition that “came” including to Gubakha. It is important that we have been implementing such philanthropic projects for several years with the personal participation of the majority shareholder of PJSC Metafrax, Seyfeddin Rustamov, ”noted Maria Konovalova, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Metafrax.
The exhibition will be open to the public from December 11, 2020 to February 28, 2021. And from March to May 2021, she will "move" to the Gubakhinsky city history and local history museum.
