October 15, 2010 in Moscow hosted the I International Charity Festival "White Cane - Tolerance, Equality, Integration". Young blind and visually impaired artists from eight countries of the former USSR took part in it.

Each gala concert is a unique, carefully thought-out creative project, revealing various facets of the world of creativity: 2011 - the cultural heritage of the peoples of the CIS; 2012 - theater and cinema, adapted for blind people; 2013 - the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi; 2014 - glorious dates and victories in the history of Russia; 2015 - a magical fairy-tale world.

This year the festival will be held in the arena of the Big Moscow State Circus. The choice of such an unusual place is not accidental.

A circus is a place where miracles take place that in everyday life seem impossible to us, where dreams come true, and there is no place for fears, where each artist is important and interesting, regardless of his abilities and physical data.

This year, such popular and beloved actors and singers as Ruslan Alekhno, A-Studio, Band’Eros, Intars Busulis, will help to feel their uniqueness, overcome insecurity and the scope of stereotypes and let young artists from cities of Russia and the CIS reveal themselves. Varvara, Vitas, VladiMir, Rodion Gazmanov, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Zara, Anastasia Makeeva, Gleb Matveychuk, Julia Mikhalchik, Alexander Oleshko, Soso Pavliashvili, Mark Tishman, Yurkis and other stars.

Among the participants of this bright show there are many of those children who, more than once, despite their age, had to face the indifference and heartlessness of those around them. However, thanks to the world of creativity, the support of relatives and the active assistance of the Blind and Visually Impaired Children Assistance Fund “At the Call of the Heart”, they were able to find their life path.

For example, nine-year-old Daniil Khachaturov from Samara. The boy does not see from birth, but his life is no different from the lives of ordinary children at his age. From the age of 4, Daniel studies at the music school in the accordion class, and now he has already begun to take piano and vocal lessons. He not only quickly learns poems and loves to expressively read them aloud, but also writes poetry, composes stories and fairy tales. Daniel is engaged in swimming, attends the “Checkers and Chess” club, actively uses voice programs, touch typing techniques, modern gadgets and loves to communicate with friends.

Another amazing participant of the Festival is Nastya Trofimchuk from Cherepovets. Despite low vision, the girl loves to draw, takes part in competitions and takes pride of place. Nastya works as a volunteer in the Dog and Cat shelter for homeless animals and dreams (when she grows up) to build her own. From early childhood, the girl likes to sing, but she did not have the opportunity to attend a music school. The White Cane festival will fulfill Nastya’s yet another dream - to perform on stage with her beloved performer.
