October 15, 2015 at 19:00 on the International Day of the White Cane in Moscow in the Theater named after M. N. Ermolova will be the VI International Charity Festival "White Cane". The event is traditionally held by the Diana Gurtskaya Charity Fund “At the Call of the Heart”.
The main goal of the festival is the creative rehabilitation of disabled children, the identification of gifted adolescents among inmates of boarding schools for blind and visually impaired children. Diana Gurtskaya met and invited such children during the social campaign “Hand of a friend” in the framework of the forum “Community”. It was held four times: in Nizhny Novgorod, Petrozavodsk, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. The guys who conquered Diana Gurtskaya with their talents will take the stage of the White Cane festival together with professional artists.
Over the past years, among the honorary participants of the festival were Jose Carreras, Goran Bregovich, Larisa Dolina, Nadezhda Babkina, Dmitry Malikov, Igor Nikolaev, Nonna Grishaeva, Sergey Lazarev, Alexander Oleshko, Yulia Kovalchuk, the Buranovsky Grandmothers group and many others. Acquaintance and joint performance with such stars is incredibly important for these especially needy children. A duet with a star, shown on central television, sometimes developing into a real friendship, becomes a true “ticket to life" for dozens of young performers.
This year, Joseph Kobzon, Tamara Gverdtsiteli, Anita Tsoi, Mark Tishman, Alexander Oleshko, Band’Eros group, Julia Nachalova, A-Studio group, Varvara and others confirmed their participation in the festival.
In addition to pop shows with stars, festival participants will be able to visit a unique art project for people with different sensations of sight and hearing “Transcription of noise” in the Darwin Museum (Moscow, 57 Vavilova St., 57). There will also be a round table discussion “Actual problems of protecting the rights of visually impaired people”, organized by the Commission of the Russian Federation for the Support of Family, Children and Motherhood.
