On November 15, 2018, at 18 o’clock, the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan invites residents of Kazan and guests of the capital of Tatarstan to the Khazine National Art Gallery for an art and music evening.
The National Art Gallery "Hazine" presents an art and educational project dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the writer. The project consists of two conceptual exhibitions dedicated to the adolescent and youthful years of Tolstoy, held in Kazan (1841–1847): “About Tolstoy without Tolstoy” and “Leo Tolstoy. Kazan chronology. " Like the theatrical action, Kazan life of the 1840s comes to life in front of the viewer, allowing the visitor to feel in the historical space of Kazan of Tolstoy’s time.
In the first part of the evening, a senior researcher at the museum Roman Gatilov will make a story about the war in the life and work of Leo Tolstoy. The theme of the war in the work of the great writer is not accidental: the participants in the war of 1812 were the father of Leo Tolstoy Count Nikolai Ilyich and the Kazan guardian of the children of Tolstoy Vladimir Ivanovich Yushkov; Mikhail Dmitrievich Gorchakov, a relative of his grandmother, participated in the battle of Borodino. But Leo Tolstoy wrote about the war not only from the stories of the participants in the war. Since 1851, the aspiring writer served in the Caucasus, then in the besieged Sevastopol under the leadership of Mikhail Gorchakov, Commander-in-Chief of the Army at the last stage of the Crimean War. Not everyone knows that Tolstoy was awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 4th degree with the inscription "For Courage"! Those who come to the gallery will be able to see the first exposed graphic portrait of M. D. Gorchakov (lithographer V. Shertle, 1838).
In the second part of the evening, a poet, translator, author and director of musical and poetry programs, entertainer, one of the best performers of Vertinsky’s songs, Alexei Gomazkov, will perform. A. Gomazkov will perform the songs of Alexander Vertinsky, whose film debut took place in the film with Ilya Lvovich Tolstoy (the writer’s son) based on Tolstoy’s short story “How are people alive?” Each of Vertinsky’s songs performed by Alexei Gomazkov is a small performance that you listen to and watch with great pleasure! We invite you not to miss the rare opportunity to hear this program of Alexei Gomazkov.
