The exhibition is held as part of the "Photography and Material Culture" program. The audience will be presented with unique works by European and Japanese photographers of the last quarter of the XIX - early XX centuries from the collection of Moscow collector Pavel Khoroshilov. The exposition features more than 30 antique kimonos from the Meiji, Taisho and early Showa periods from the collection of SAMO, a design group by Andrey Skatkov and Maria Orlova. Viewers will see almost all the variety of these Japanese clothes. Each exhibit presented at the exhibition is a real work of art. One of the pearls of the collection is the kimono of a young Japanese woman who lived in the middle of the 19th century.

During the exhibition, a series of lectures “Exposing a Kimono” will be delivered. It is interesting in that in it the practical part prevails over the theoretical. Guests will have the opportunity to see the whole complex process of dressing in full-dress kimono sets.
