The Gallery of European and American Art of the 19th-20th centuries opened a renewed exhibition Automatic translate
From February 1, in the Gallery of European and American Art of the XIX-XX centuries (Volkhonka street, 14) you can see the updated exposition of the second and third floors. The halls will feature both masterpieces by Monet, Degas, Gauguin, Matisse, as well as paintings by other artists stored in the storerooms of the Pushkin Museum.
The renewal of the exposition became possible due to the fact that some of the Gallery’s exhibits are now on display. In particular, works of art from the collections of the Morozov brothers are at the Paris exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton.

In the halls of the second floor of the Gallery, works by artists of the first half of the 19th century (Delacroix, Goya, Friedrich and others), Barbizon (Corot, Daubigny and others) and impressionists (Degas, Monet, Renoir and others) will be presented. A special place in the exposition will be occupied by the art of symbolism (works by Puvis de Chavannes, Carriere, Redon, etc.), as well as individual artistic searches of European masters of the late 19th century.
The third floor will house post-impressionist paintings (Cezanne, van Gogh and Gauguin), as well as works by Matisse, Rousseau’s The Customs Officer, Picasso, Kandinsky, Chagall and other artists of the first half of the 20th century. A separate room will be dedicated to Cezanne’s influence on the art of the early 20th century. In more detail, viewers will now be able to get acquainted with the work of Marquet and other Fauvists, with the history of cubism after Picasso and with the heritage of the masters of the Paris School. And the hall of Italian art of the 20th century completes the exposition.
In June 2022, works from the collections of the Morozov brothers will return to Moscow and will be shown at an exhibition dedicated to these collectors, which will be held in the Main building of the Pushkin Museum im. A. S. Pushkin. The exhibition will bring together the collections of Ivan and Mikhail Morozov, divided between the Pushkin Museum and the Hermitage.
