Unique exhibits from Irkutsk - at an exhibition in Beijing Automatic translate
Four unique dolls from the collection of the “V. Bronstein Gallery” became part of the exposition of the exhibition project “Ulger. Author’s dolls of the Namdakov family ”, which will be held at the Millennium Art Museum in the capital of China, Beijing, from December 15, 2016 to February 12, 2017.
In total, 35 exhibits will be presented during the exhibition, including 20 unique dolls created by the family of the Buryat sculptor Dasha Namdakov from his sketches, as well as 15 graphic works by the master himself. The idea of the exhibition project was born within the walls of the Victor Bronstein Gallery about a year ago, in December 2015, and in November of this year, Irkutsk viewers were the first to see the new exhibition with designer dolls, which then went to Beijing at the invitation of the Secretary General of the Millennium Art Fund, Ms. Wang Limei.
Unique dolls are made by craftsmen and craftswomen from the large family clan of the sculptor Dasha Namdakov, who makes sketches, while other members of the family make skeletons, shape and color the characters. Materials and techniques are quite simple: pieces of leather and fur, horsehair and rags of lace, wooden or wire bases - frames. However, the result of painstaking work is stunning: executed as sculptures, the dolls are static, but in each of them there is a certain character, and in an exquisite pose - a special plastic. The “jewelry” techniques of sewing, braiding hair, decorating with different materials - cause admiration for the craftsmanship of needlewomen.
The exhibition’s grand opening will be attended by the Secretary General of the Millennium Van Limey Art Fund, representatives of the Dasha Namdakova Art Fund, the master himself and his family, as well as the founder of the gallery, Viktor Bronstein and gallery director Olga Bronstein.
Exhibition “Ulger. Author’s dolls of the Namdakov family ”will be opened at the Millennium Art Museum at the address: Beijing, Haidian District, ul. Fusin, 9A.
