Photographic works for the contest are accepted on-line on the FIXAGE festival website www.fixfest.ru from June 15 to August 15, 2018.

Competition Theme

The theme of the 2018 Photo Contest is “Seeing Miracles.” Not only in complex scenery or invented fairy-tale collages, but also in simple, everyday objects or plots, the photographer can find something unusual, wonderful, positive. The power of art is to convey to the audience what others may not have noticed or could not capture in the form of a single static image.

The terms of participation

Any photographer can participate in the competition, regardless of professional affiliation and place of residence from the age of 18 years.

In the Photo Contest can take no more than 3 photo works from one participant.

Participation in the competition is free.

Submission of works for the competition

To submit works to the competition, the author needs to fill out a questionnaire and attach a preview of the submitted photographs on-line on the Fixage Festival website www.fixfest.ru.

The organizing committee of the competition selects 100 works that become winners and participate in the final part of the competition.

Authors of works that have become laureates must, within 10 days after receiving the notification, provide the organizers with files of printing quality work, as well as consent to the processing of their personal data. If the authors provide the files insufficient for high-quality photo printing, the organizers reserve the right to withdraw the work from the competition.

The jury and the selection procedure for the winners of the Photo Contest

The competition jury includes a collegium of up to 10 people - authors of photo exhibitions, artists, professional publishers. The list of jury members of the Photo Contest will be published on the Festival website.

Winners are selected by secret ballot. The names of the authors are hidden to the jury until the end of the vote. The works must correspond to the declared theme of the Photo Contest.

The Audience Choice Award is determined by off-line spectator voting during the Third Fixage International Third International Open Festival of Contemporary Photography September 14-23, 2018 at the Central House of Artists on Krymsky Val (Moscow).

Photo Contest Prize Fund

The winners of the Photo Contest receive a cash prize in the amount of:

Grand Prix - certificate for 65,000 rubles

First Prize (1st degree) - certificate for 50,000 rubles

The second prize (2 laureates of the 2nd degree) - certificates for 25,000 rubles.

Third Prize (3 laureates of the 3rd degree) - certificates for 15,000 rubles.

Audience Award (1 laureate) - certificate for 40,000 rubles.

Authors of works that have become winners and laureates are awarded with diplomas of the festival and receive a signature T-shirt of the festival "FIXAGE".

The organizer of the Photo Contest, when paying compensation to the winners of the Photo Contest, acts as a tax agent and withholds the personal income tax from the amount of the payment made. Payment is made to the accounts of prize winners opened with banks in Russia, only in Russian rubles

The decisions of the jury award are final and irrevocable. The winning authors have the right to refuse the prize without requiring any compensation from the organizers of the competition, in which case the prize will be redistributed in accordance with the rating established by the jury.

Separate prizes from partners and organizers of the festival are supposed.

Announcement of results and awarding

The works, which became the winners of the competition, will be published on the festival website no later than 3 days from the moment the winners are determined.

The winners of the Photo Contest will be announced on September 14th.

Photo exhibition of the laureates of the contest (For) fix the world!

Photographic works that became prize winners and laureates of the competition will take part in the photo exhibition “(For) Fix the World!”, Which will be held as part of the FIXAGE festival on September 14–23 at the Central House of Artists in Moscow.

Other conditions

The author must be the copyright holder of the material provided by him.

Each author provides the organizer of the contest, without any compensation, all rights to the works sent to the contest, and the accompanying texts for exhibiting, publishing illustrations and materials in order to communicate with the audience, in any form and without exception. The authors agree to the non-commercial use of their photos in joint exhibitions of winners and laureates and promotional campaigns of the Photo Contest and the Festival.
