The Moscow Museum of Modern Art presents the exhibition "Thin Citizens", prepared by students of the master’s program of the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and the Higher School of Economics. The project is dedicated to the themes of indifference and unification. The basis of the exposition is formed by the works of artists and artists: Liza Bobkova, Evgeny Dedov, Karina Sadreeva-Nuriyeva, Igor Samolet.
In the works presented at the exhibition, the artists draw on personal stories and experiences. They comprehend feelings such as fear, alienation and helplessness through metaphors and symbolic images. Their statements invite to conscious co-presence and sensitive living of human vulnerability. These artists are subtle citizens - people who speak out and metaphorically express their position.
The exhibition "Thin Citizens" is held as part of the program to support young art, one of the priorities of the institution. This program helps young artists, curators and graduates of specialized universities to express themselves in the art community, develop their professional skills, and also involve young people in cultural processes. This project was prepared by students of the Master’s program at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Research University Higher School of Economics. Thin Citizens is their debut project, which they have been working on for 2 years.
