August 24, at 19.00 at the Museum of Contemporary Art ARTMUZA opens a personal exhibition of paintings by Ed Meder "Technological Myth".
The artist rethinks the principles of classical painting and the possibilities presented by contemporary art. In his paintings, the transpersonal triumphs: technicalism, outer spaces and extensions, failures, multidimensional traps, non-linear corridors with shades of stainless steel.
The technogenic is present in Meder even in still lifes and his favorite landscapes: metallic reflections, geometrically adjusted shadows. Light in general is the main expressive means of the master, with the help of which he builds the dramaturgy of images.
As art critic Ekaterina Pavlova aptly put it, in the world of Ed Meder, a subtle game of the mind is combined with professional precision in the choice of artistic means and a sense of space, concentration and even some detachment. In his paintings, the reflections of the sun’s rays in the foliage of trees or jets of water are intertwined with a complex pattern of shadows on the snow, reflected in the multi-layered twilight fantasy world of ancient ruins.
According to the author himself, an integral part of each of his works is the title, which reveals the essence, which, perhaps, is not always read in the visual system. The names of the paintings, which are not simple and unclear in themselves, Scenography, Project III, The Fifth Interaction, Chaos Theory allow us, the audience, to lift the veil at least a little and look into the world of the master, joining the philosophy of contemporary art.
Is it so? We invite you to see for yourself by visiting the exhibition of paintings by Ed Meder "Technological Myth", which will last at the ARTMUZ Museum until October 2.
