From September 9 to September 28 at the Center for Fashion and Design, the new space of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, will take place the personal exhibition Linor Goralik “The Theory of Everyday Life”. The exhibition consists of more than 100 works by the author, created over the past 10 years, and performed in a wide range of techniques: from graphics to silver work and from sculpture to textile works. Most of the works exhibited at the exhibition Goralik exhibited for the first time.
Linor Goralik is an artist, poet and writer, born in 1975 and living between Moscow and Tel Aviv. Her artwork is united by the theme of interest in everyday life, perceived through the prism of constant empathic empathy. At the exhibition in the new space of the Museum, designed to work with contemporary art and design, Goralik offers the viewer his own, exclusively gaze on seemingly familiar everyday situations.
A significant part of the work is devoted to an imaginary late-Soviet underground association of citizens living in the fictional "closed" millionaire city of Tukhachevsk. Another series of works, “-mnesia”, is a conceptual example of wearable art, made by the author manually from silver, wood, aluminum and other jewelry and non-jewelry materials. A number of objects, including the embroidered series “Tattoos”, are an attempt to use traditional techniques so as to engage the viewer in a dialogue about tradition and the framework established by it. Some of the installations presented by the author, for example, the Five Minutes Later series, set themselves the task of empathically rethinking the plots of traditional culture that have become familiar to invisibility.
The exhibition "Theory of everyday life" will be held in the new institution of the Museum - the Center for Fashion and Design, which was created with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The Fashion and Design Center has a social focus - a wide range of events are planned to support young designers and artists. The Center’s work schedule has been specially selected from 12:00 to 21:00.
