The history of St. Petersburg is relatively young, because the city is a little over 300 years old. Petersburg has long been the capital of the empire, the political center of Russia, and it remains the cultural capital to this day. St. Petersburg has always been shrouded in secrets, palace intrigues, incredible events and historical tragedies. F. M. Dostoevsky tried to express the secret essence of this city in his works. Many artists and poets have also long described the city on the Neva as gloomy and mysterious. And this is no accident, because people are still afraid of narrow and dark alleys with unexpected turns and dead ends. Foggy atmosphere, dullness, raininess, as well as a huge number of historical mysteries - all this makes St. Petersburg one of the most attractive and mysterious cities in the country.
I am also impressed by the mysterious essence of incredible historical buildings, large avenues and small cozy streets in their own way. When I walk along these streets in the evening, especially after rain, it seems to me that I find myself in an amazing and unknowable world of events and secrets that are hidden behind the windows and walls of St. Petersburg houses. Something special lives in every window, someone special and it is very mysterious. I would also like to show in my works a small lonely person surrounded by the mysterious foggy and rainy world of St. Petersburg with its harsh cold wind in order to evoke in the viewer a feeling of dankness, detachment of this person from reality and his involvement in something bigger, unknown.
