“1000 Shot Girls” is a play by a Greek poet of the twentieth century, Rita Bumi-Papa. The work was based on the fate of the girls who died in the Civil War in Greece (1946-1949). The poem has a subtle lyricism and at the same time carries a powerful anti-war orientation. The poetess created monologues of girls who do not blame the enemies, but ask, calling for understanding and sympathy - “All these Greek women could be saved if they said“ yes. ”Their moral greatness, a unique case of self-sacrifice in history, not only shocked me, but inextricably linked with them. "
