On September 20, the Moscow Museum’s Lecture Hall will host the premiere of the inclusive performance “Alice’s Dreams” based on Lewis Carroll’s fairy tale Alice in Wonderland.
The play “Dreams of Alice” is an inclusive project of a group of volunteers, whose actors are children with special needs, wards of the Gulf Stream Charitable Fund and the children’s inclusive center “It’s Fun to Walk Together”.
The purpose of the performance is to show how, through theatrical art, children talk about their feelings and attitude: they enjoy the sun, play, talk with friends, dream and learn - they live a full life. But for this they need only a little more attention, and sometimes help.
Children with disabilities face a problem of misunderstanding on the part of others on a daily basis. These are not only everyday issues, but also communication ones - it can be difficult for special people to find understanding on the part of society. The play “Dreams of Alice” is another step towards creating a comfortable environment for everyone.
Marina Zubova, Director of the Gulf Stream Charitable Foundation: “Our foundation has been engaged in inclusion issues for a long time, we work so that children with special needs can fully participate in all areas of life. Our work is also aimed at making the society ready to accept these children. Therefore, we supported the theater project “Alice’s Dreams”, in which children with special needs can realize themselves as actors, and a large number of viewers will be able to see this good tale on the stage. ”
Ethel Simkina, producer and initiator of the Alice’s Dreams project: “It seems to me that treating people with disabilities is a huge problem of our time. Your presence at the performance is a step towards their socialization, which is feasible for everyone. ”
Nikita Malyshev, director and composer of the play “Dreams of Alice”: “I see in this project an opportunity to help children open up and fulfill their dreams, contribute to laying a strong foundation for their future. It also seems important to me to show the absence of real boundaries, without “yes, but…” coming from the head, and not from the heart. After all, the main thing is desire. ”
Tickets for the performance can be purchased at the link: https://bf-golfstrim.timepad.ru/event/1021563/
All proceeds from the sale of tickets will be transferred in favor of the Gulf Stream Charitable Fund.
