Pancake week is the most cheerful, wide, noisy and long-awaited holiday of the year, it is celebrated for seven whole days. In the Pancake week, people see off the winter and meet the spring. It was this plot that formed the basis of the theatrical and musical performance, which will unfold in the walls of the Catherine’s meeting on the final day of the Shrovetide - “Forgiveness Sunday”.

Already in the lobby of the mansion, a whirlwind of celebration, fun and entertainment will embrace guests. The artists of the ensemble "Barnia" in the images of Russian folk characters will circle everyone in a friendly round dance, show traditional Pancake weekly fun, and take them to the hall where the main action will begin. Here, to Russian folk hussar music, the audience will be told an old Slavic tale of how the beautiful but very cold Zima-Morana did not want to give way to her sister, the blossoming Vesna-Lada, and resorted to cunning tricks to prolong the cold. However, people who wholeheartedly hunger for warmth, united and helped spring defeat winter.

Theatrical performance will be accompanied by perky dances and songs. Fragments from the play “And we are waiting for Shrovetide” performed by the “Fifth Wheel” ensemble and Stepan Pisakhov’s fairy tale “Pie with Catfish”, which will be told by the famous St. Petersburg storyteller, master of the artistic word Anna Yakovleva, are organically woven into the outline of the story.
