At the exhibition site of the IEC Fashion Museum, which continues to work with young Russian designers, the opening of the new project “Silk Songs of the Bird of the Sirin” by the famous Russian designer Irina Batkova, founder of the Sirinbird brand, will take place.
The exhibition will feature a collection of seventeen silk scarves and sketches for them, dedicated to the cultural heritage of Russia and told in a modern graphic language. The idea of the project is to show the unique diversity of the stylistic heritage of Russia and the post-Soviet space, which is reflected in the works created by the designer using modern technologies. Each work is a multi-level story in which an intricate drawing is only the top layer of the narrative. As befits the stories, they have their own characters, drama, mood and style - from authentic Russian wooden architecture ornaments to a new look at Khokhloma and traditional Slavic ornaments, in which there was a place for the mythical bird Sirina and Gagarin.
A collection of scarves will be displayed using lightboxes.
The exhibition also includes unique pieces of decorative art from the collections of the Russian Manor gallery and collectors Alexander Savinov and Alexander Tsybin, illustrating the beauty and variety of cultural layers - from a unique lifetime portrait of Catherine II, made on silk, spinning wheels, chests to photographs of Gagarin, missile layouts, etc.
A source of inspiration for a designer whose works are represented in this collection is Russia for centuries. These are all events related to history, culture, art, craft, and found a response in the hearts and memories of generations. For example, the design of the headscarf “Alexander Nevsky” is dedicated to the 775th anniversary of the victory of Alexander Nevsky in the Battle of Nevsky in 1240. In the center is the profile of Alexander Nevsky, the ceiling of the Alexander Nevsky Hall in the Kremlin diverges from it in circles, the helmet of the legendary commander, elements of the state coat of arms of the Russian Empire, the ancient order of Alexander Nevsky in the corners.

A great many objects, scattered and forming universes, swirling in a single dance - space through the eyes of Kandinsky, are embodied in the design of the Kandinsky shawl. As the artist said: “Switching off objectivity from painting naturally sets very large requirements - the ability to experience a purely artistic form. Therefore, the viewer is required to make a special development in this direction, which is inevitable. ” V.V. Kandinsky.

In the scarf “Petersburg Fairy Tale”, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the Hermitage, the summer winds of white nights make the Neva sparkle, splash onto sparkling drops, which reflect both the sky and the river and the gold of the palaces. At this time, one can watch how vigilant the vigilant griffins guarding the city, or meet a gapeous Hermite, a secret resident of the Hermitage, riding on a Hermitage cat, hurrying about his invisible fairy-tale Hermitage affairs.
