November 20-22, 2019 in the Gallery of Modern Art of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan (Kazan, Karl Marx Str. 57) on the initiative of the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, leading specialists of the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg) as part of the Culture and Exhibition Center of the Russian Museum in Kazan will hold a seminar "Art-mediation in the museum"
The theme of the seminar seems to us very important, relevant.
Art mediation is a rapidly developing line of work of museums today, a new dialogue method of building relationships with the audience.
Formally, the work of an art mediator is like a tour - communication with a group of visitors about a work of art. However, ideologically, they are fundamentally different. The art mediator is a moderator of dialogue. He refuses ready-made assessments and interpretations, unlike the guide, does not act on behalf of the museum as a carrier of “objective” or “authoritative” knowledge. The mediator does not broadcast information. Its role is to help visitors gain a high-quality experience in communicating with the work, with the museum and with each other.
Thus, mediation is the construction of short-term, but significant relationships, all of whose participants are fundamentally equal. The mediator proceeds from the belief that everyone has the right to interpret their own experience, and supplies participants not with ready-made judgments, but with means for deeper contact with the work, for expressing their own feelings and thoughts.
Seminar participants will learn the basics of the mediator approach, with methods and tools that allow you to build an equal and meaningful dialogue that enriches all its participants, regardless of their knowledge, experience and beliefs.
The seminar will be held by:
