On January 22, the Belyaevo Gallery of the Moscow Exhibition Halls Association will host the opening of the Russian Glass: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow exhibition, an art project showing a retrospective and panoramic view of the art of glassmaking.
The focus of the project "Russian Glass: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" is the comprehension of the creative heritage, cultural identity, traditions and innovation in the field of domestic glass art.
The exposition includes works by Soviet artists of the well-known glass factories "Krasny May" and "Bolshevishersky", presented from private collections, works by masters and students of the Moscow Stroganov School of Glass and graduates of the St. Petersburg Art and Industry Academy named after A. L. Stieglitz, as well as studio works of contemporary Russian authors.
Thanks to a rich palette of visual possibilities, the latest materials, and technical innovations, glass today is developing as an actual genre of exhibition art objects, but inherently associated with the history and traditions of Soviet industrial art, the era of its heyday.
