January 23, at 19.00 at the Museum of Contemporary Art ARTMUZA /13 line V.O., 70/ Eduard Moiseikov’s exhibition “Many-Faced Rus’” opens.
The central character of the exhibition is a Russian man. But this designation is not national, but spiritual affiliation.
The Russian spirit, what makes up the national character, the spiritual essence of our country is a motley canvas of traditions, natures, personalities - that’s what Eduard Moiseikov’s paintings are about.
Both the title of the exhibition and the works presented in it reflect issues that are pressing today: adherence to foundations, closeness to the living, the original, belonging to the Russian feeling and soul.
Here is embodied what makes the aesthetics of our people valuable. According to the artist, its essence is the unity of man with nature, simplicity and depth of characters.
Each work shows an inquisitive interest in the traditions of Rus’. The canvases illustrate various moments of life: Christian holidays and inherited pagan customs, everyday scenes and their characters, lyrical female images and moving children’s faces.
The invariably joyful coloring of Eduard Moiseikov’s works is given by the color of the luxurious outfits of the heroes of the paintings. The master’s attitude to color and the use of pure, open tones also reveals an internal connection with folk traditions.
The exhibition presented at ARTMUZE allows you to get an idea of the author’s manner, style of depiction, and the artist’s pictorial style - based on the contrast of dynamics and statics, sweeping impasto strokes, and emotionally explosive colors.
Admission, as always in ARTMUZ, is free.
