From September 2 to September 7 in Yevpatoria will be held the I Open festival of children’s and family cinema "Sunny Island". These days, seven creative meetings with Russian celebrities will be held at the Golden Key International Theater Theater Center.

The opening ceremony of the festival, already in good tradition, will be held on September 2 at the Theater Square in Yevpatoriya. This year, not only film screenings, but also concerts with the participation of Russian stars, master classes, creative meetings and even outdoor shows await guests and residents of the main children’s health resort. As part of the competition program of the festival “Sunny Island”, 10 films, including feature films and animated films, will be presented to the attention of the audience and the competent jury.

- Evpatoria is a recognized children’s health resort in Russia, and where, if not here, to establish a film festival that would not only enable Crimean and visiting children to watch and evaluate the latest Russian films for children, Russian film classics, but also learn to make films, create their own creative projects. And now, his dream is ready to come true - there are only three weeks left before the grand opening of the festival!

You can watch competitive films and get acquainted with their star creators in the Rocket movie theater; Free shows will be held from September 3 to 7. Vacationers in the sanatoriums, boarding houses and health resorts of the city will also be able to watch the competitive program: for them, shows will be organized directly on the territory of the resort and health centers. Press conferences, creative meetings and master classes with the participation of Russian celebrities will be held at the venues of the International Center for Theater Arts "Golden Key", the theater named after A.S. Pushkin and the Children’s Art School. In addition, an open-air cinema will operate within the framework of the festival, where every evening for 5 days they will show children and family films shot at the legendary Yalta film studio, which will be 100 years old in 2017!

On September 2, a press conference will be held at the Golden Key Theater to mark the opening of the Sunny Island film festival, and during the following festival days Natalya Bondarchuk, Alexey Inshakov, Grigory Gladkov, Boris Grachevsky, Ivan Okhlobystin and the film crew of the film Crystal Key will hold Theater creative meetings with Evpatorians and guests of our city.

The young jury will choose the best films in the competition nominations - students of Yevpatoria schools, which included pupils of the Golden Key International Theater Theater - Victor Wenger, Maria Krasnikova, Daniil Permyakov, Polina Krotenko - together with their senior “colleagues”, folk artists of Russia filmmaker Svetlana Druzhinina and cameraman Anatoly Mukasey, artist, producer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Pavel Kaplevich.

The closing ceremony of the festival will take place on September 7 at the Yevpatoria Theater named after A.S. Pushkin, where guests and participants of the festival, as well as spectators, will enjoy an unforgettable concert by Maxim Dunaevsky with the participation of Mikhail Boyarsky, Dmitry Kharatyan and other stars of Russian theater and cinema.
