In the gallery "On Kashirka" of the Association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" opens a retrospective exhibition of abstract artist Vasily Nikolaev "Elegy".
Elegy, the ancient Greek form of poetics - a sad song to the accompaniment of a flute, the result of philosophical reflection on the complex issues of being. The conflict of social images and internal reflection is considered by the artist in the aesthetics of pictorial abstraction.
The exhibition of Vasily Nikolaev “Elegy” is a series of “suffered” works of the master, who embodied his philosophical thoughts about life. He sees the world through the prism of his own plastic concept, the pictorial system of which is lined up and developed as a way of harmonizing the artistic space. His abstract canvases are filled with images that are born in vague outlines and color gradients. The exposition of the exhibition is built on the principle of continuity and alternation of paintings by the artist and poetic elegies of writers from different eras: from ancient Greek to modern authors.
