Productions appeared on this territory one after another for two reasons: cheap land far from the center and an accessible source of water - the Yauza River. Later, the Kursk railway was laid here, along which huge industrial zones also began to emerge.

The history of the emergence and development of five Lefortovo enterprises will be described in detail in the exposition of the Lefortovo Museum of History: the Moscow Tea Factory, the Shesternya-Citroen Joint Stock Company, the Hammer and Sickle factories, Moskabelmet and Kompressor factories. At the exhibition you can see genuine samples of the plants’ products and unique exhibits from the funds of the Museum of Moscow, the Polytechnic Museum, the State Museum of V.V. Mayakovsky, the Central Theater Museum named after V.V. A. A. Bakhrushin, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, the Mytishchi Museum of History and Art, the State Museum of Architecture named after A. V. Shchusev, including award badges, posters and posters, photographs, postcards and newsreels.
