About the Open Stage Project
GBUK "Directorate of the Open Stage Project" is, first of all, a production center providing assistance to young directors and independent theater groups.
“Open Stage” takes on the entire cycle of organizational, financial and marketing support for the production and rental of performances.
The most important activity of the Open Stage is the search for new scenic spaces outside the Garden Ring.
As part of this activity, a number of large-scale creative events took place during the 2013/2014 season, among them: the festival of premiere performances "Transition 13/14", the festival "October Revolution" (together with the Cultural Center "Moskvich"). The performances of the "Open Stage" took part in theater festivals and tours, and the production of "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka. Canceled ”was shown at the Golden Mask, the largest Russian theater festival. Non-theatrical spaces — Moscow cultural centers, libraries, exhibition halls, schools located both in the center of the capital and within New Moscow — were also successfully explored.
Over the past season, 16 premieres were released by young Moscow directors as part of the project. At the venues of the "Open Stage" on Povarskaya 20, the performances of more than 20 independent groups were shown.
