On December 2, at 20. 00, the Art ParkING Center for Contemporary Technologies in Art will present a concert of choral music of the 15th – 21st centuries, “Intersection Point”, in the hall of the Lendok Open Film Studio.
The main goal of the “Intersection Point” project is to introduce a wide circle of young people to the evolution of the concept of “spirituality” in various cultures through choral music: from composers of the Middle Ages and Renaissance to contemporary foreign and Russian authors. The “intersection point" is a metaphor for today - a meeting place and interaction of a huge field of traditions and views of the past with a modern understanding of beauty. All this together creates the cultural code of modern man. The program includes compositions by Ilya Demutsky, Kleman Zhaneken, Elina Lebedze, Paul Hindemith, Mark Prigogo, Ivan Alexandrov, Carlo Gesualdo di Venoz, Ivan Abramov, Nastasya Khrushcheva, Arthur Zobnin. All compositions of the program are unique in complexity and beauty samples of art of their time, rarely performed in Russia.
The concert participants are the laureate of international competitions the Festino Youth Chamber Choir, students and graduates of the orchestra faculty of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, conductor - laureate of international competitions Alexander Makarov.
The collective was founded in 2008 and consists of 18 professional conductors - choir singers, graduates of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. The team has repeatedly participated in contemporary music festivals, such as the Hammer Festival, From the Avant-Garde to the Present Day, Petersburg Musical Autumn, 16/21 (Nizhny Novgorod). The choir actively collaborates with young Petersburg authors and promotes their work, the invited staff of the Bolshoi Drama Theater. Tovstonogov (the play "What to do" by Andrei Moguchy, music. N. Khrushcheva). Winner of the first prize of the international choir competition in Miltenberg. (Germany)
The project is supported by the Committee on Youth Policy and Cooperation with Public Organizations.
