AWAKENING…
Awakening of nature… Awakening of a woman… Feelings… Talent… Hope… Music…
The most tremulous and fragile time is the time of the first spring awakening after a heavy winter sleep.
The Helikon-Opera Moscow Musical Theater, led by Dmitry Bertman, and Oleg Zakomorny, Honored Artist of Russia, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, conceived an exhibition project at the Sergey Zimin Theater Foyer Gallery, combining large graphic works and bronze sculptural compositions, which bizarrely and unexpectedly reveal the theme of awakening.
The exhibition was conceived during the period of severe February frosts and unprecedented snowfalls. We made our way to the sculptor’s workshop through impassable snowdrifts, our breaths were caught by the wind, rare passers-by, having difficulty keeping their balance, awkwardly minced along a narrow path…
And in the workshop light, peace and warmth reigned. It was inhabited by sunny bronze maidens, tall and slender bronze trees reflected in crowns and reflected in outlandish waters, and songbirds comfortably settled on their branches…
The authors of the exposition decided to lure spring, bring its awakening and coming closer with these bright works, full of hope and love. Not scorching, but warming and inspiring.
We present to the kind audience about twenty works by the Moscow artist and sculptor Oleg Zakomorny.
Exhibition curator Anna Gribkova-Tkhostova.
