“We hope that the exhibition will arouse keen interest not only of representatives of the creative professions, but also of serious collectors interested in modern fine art, as well as businessmen,” said the President of the Union of Artists of Russia, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation K.V. Khudyakov. - The works created by young artists under the guidance of recognized masters and passed competitive selection, in our opinion, have a good investment potential. The artists we discovered in the future will represent contemporary Russian fine art, including in the international arena. ”
The exhibition was the result of a large-scale project of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, which provides a unique opportunity for young talented artists from various regions of the Russian Federation to try their hand in teamwork under the guidance of recognized masters of fine art.
The curators selected 85 authors from among the most talented and promising young artists to participate in the project. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, the project participants for about two months created independent work on given topics. Further, based on the results of the competitive selection, the experts approved 140 works that will be presented in St. Petersburg.
“THE NATURE OF BINARITY” will also be shown in Vladimir, Kaliningrad, Tolyatti, Stavropol and Moscow. Within the framework of the project, round tables and master classes will be held at the exhibition venues of these cities.

The Creative Union of Artists of Russia (TSHR) is an all-Russian public organization uniting about fifteen thousand professional artists throughout Russia. TSHR holds exhibitions, publishes art catalogs and books, holds classes and master classes in painting, drawing and sculpture for professionals and amateurs, organizes conferences, symposiums, auctions, charity events, implements large-scale international projects with the participation of artists and curators from different countries, and primarily from the former USSR.
The history of TSHR dates back to the beginning of the last century. In April 1917, the Professional Union of Moscow Artists and Painters was formed, which included such outstanding artists as Konstantin Korovin, Pavel Kuznetsov, Aristarkh Lentulov, Robert Falk and others. The Union’s tasks, in particular, included arranging exhibitions, auctions and lectures. In the summer of 1918, avant-garde artists left this union. They organized their own association: the Professional Union of Artists of New Art. But soon these two alliances again became one. In 1919, the First All-Russian Congress of Art Workers was held, which established its own union - RABIS ("Art Workers"). This organization was the first creative association of the country. In different years, its members were world-class masters: K. Malevich, M. Chagall, A. Rodchenko, K. Chukovsky B. Johanson, V. Serov, I. Grabar, Kukryniksy.
Since 1924, RABIS became known as the All-Union Professional Union of Art Workers, and in 1953 it joined the single professional union of cultural workers, forming the Joint Committee of the Graphic Artists’ Union in it.
In 1974, after the infamous “Bulldozer” exhibition, the authorities were forced to change their attitude towards informal art. Nonconformist artists were allowed to join the painting section of the Joint Committee of the Graphic Artists Union. An exhibition hall was equipped in the basement of house No. 28 on Malaya Gruzinskaya Street, where the works of O. Rabin, E. Neizvestny, V. Nemukhin, O. Tselkov, I. Kabakov, A. Zverev, D. Krasnopevtsev, A. Kharitonov, D Plavinsky, K. Khudyakov, S. Simakov, E. Drobitsky, E. Evtushenko and other masters. "Sevens", "Twenty" and other exhibitions held by the Joint Committee of the Union of Graphic Artists, went down in the history of Russian art.
In the 1990s, the union of artists and graphic artists, uniting masters of fine art, book graphics, posters, photo artists, designers, architects, cartographers, etc., was transformed into a professional creative union, and then into the Creative Union of Russian Artists, which later became a member UNESCO International Federation of Artists.
Currently, the Creative Union of Russian Artists unites about 15 thousand painters, graphic artists, sculptors, illustrators, book designers, photo artists, designers, architects, craftsmen and craftsmen, art dolls, contemporary art from 47 regions of Russia.
The works of members of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the Russian Museum, and other museums in Russia and foreign countries.
