Presentation of a unique porcelain iconostasis of the 19th century Automatic translate
April 21 at 14.00 in the Gallery of Siberian Art of the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev (Karl Marx, 23) will be presented with a unique porcelain iconostasis of the late XIX century. The only one preserved throughout Eastern Siberia, after a long restoration and reconstruction, it will be first shown to the public in assembled form.
The iconostasis was created for the home church of the Orphanage House for Orphaned Girls, based on the will of the Irkutsk merchant, Elizaveta Medvednikova. The porcelain part of the building was created by the masters of the famous porcelain and faience factory I.D. Perevalov, who later became known as the Khaitinsky porcelain factory. Workmanship, dazzling whiteness of porcelain, sophistication of color made the construction bright and festive.
The porcelain iconostasis is housed in the renovated icon painting hall of the Gallery of Siberian Art and has taken center stage in its permanent exhibition. The event will take place on April 21, Friday, at 14.00 at the address: st. Karl Marx, 23. Admission to the opening of the exhibition is free. Inquiries by phone : 33-41-12, 33-43-89.
