At the opening ceremony, the presence of the sixtieth poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko, relatives of poets, public and political figures of the country is expected.
In the works of Z.K. Tsereteli, the large-scale sculptural cycle “My Contemporaries”, in which the powerful spiritual, intellectual and creative potential of the best representatives of Russian culture of the twentieth century was reflected, occupies a special place. In it, the artist forever captured the images of outstanding personalities of the past, who made an invaluable contribution to the spiritual development of society. These are, first of all, the brilliant Russian poets of the Silver Age, brilliant writers, singers, theatrical figures, etc.
This cycle received its worthy continuation in the creation of sculptural compositions dedicated to the spokesmen of the thoughts of the creative intelligentsia of the 60s of the XX century, outstanding figures of national culture, famous poets, writers, theater and film directors, scientists, with many of whom the master often communicated and made friends. These are B. Akhmadullina, A. Voznesensky, V. Vysotsky, E. Evtushenko, A. Dementiev, B. Okudzhava, R. Rozhdestvensky and others. In an effort to convey the characteristic features of a particular image, the master finds the most expressive and characteristic features, attributes of creativity these characters, embodying them through various plastic solutions - from round sculptures to relief and high relief. Z.K. Tsereteli continues to enthusiastically work on this cycle.
The master’s new sculptural composition immortalized poetic works, volumes of the works of these ingenious poets, which left a bright mark in Russian culture and extraordinarily enriched the spiritual atmosphere of that time.
During the presentation of the master’s new work, an exhibition of the works of Z.K. will be opened. Tsereteli. This is about 30 works made in recent years in the technique of volumetric enamel. One of the most important achievements of Z.K. Tsereteli was the revival and improvement of the almost lost technique for making cloisonne enamel. Numerous experiments and tireless searches in this area, which the master deliberately conducted since the 1960s, allowed him to make a significant contribution in this area, significantly expand the color palette, improve the technology for making enamels suitable for use in monumental art, in particular, when creating large-format murals. Tsereteli created a new type of artwork - volumetric enamels, which have increased color saturation, sonority and decorativeness. The exhibition presents both genre works and unusually expressive works of the artist from the series "Greece", "Sardinia", "Croatia", "Citizens" and others. The exhibition will be open to the public until the beginning of September 2016.
