In this confrontation lies the drama of the whole work, and it grows from a fairy tale for children into a philosophical parable that is absolutely in tune with today.

The eternal themes of Beauty and Suffering, Love and Sacrifice, Art and Death, turn out to be concepts not only equivalent, but also interdependent. The writer reveals to us the difficult relationship between Art, Nature and Life. This harmony attracted the choreographer Konstantin Keykhel, and the idea inspired the theater director Pavel Nestratov and the dancers of the New Ballet theater.

Bright characters, the most beautiful world of nature and the world of the artist, opened up great potential for composing choreography, creating costumes and sets. First. Also, the play "Winter Rose" is interesting in that it is a mixture of Art Nouveau and classical dance. This is a big ballet both in terms of the number of artists and in terms of duration. Modern performances are staged quite economically: a small number of artists are involved in the play. A two-act ballet is a very rare occurrence on our stage at the moment, and for me it is a definite challenge. ”
