Feast Day Automatic translate
On June 11, 2015 at 12 o’clock in the Dance Hall of the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts the next event “Gift Day” will be held. Since 2007, this museum festival has been annually held within the walls of the museum on the eve of its founding - June 12. A distinctive feature of the project is the holding of a ceremonial public presentation of gifts and honoring donors.
This time the museum received especially many gifts from artists, collectors, owners. Among the gifts are beautiful paintings and graphic works of a whole galaxy of venerable Moscow artists - People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Sokovnin, Honored Artists of Russia Ilya Khripchenko, Konstantin Petrov, Valery Ryabovol, as well as Igor Khimich and Yuri Popkov. A striking personality of the style is the donated picture of the honored artist of Russia Evgeny Dolgachev from Mozhaisk.
Among the many gifts of interest are the works of the original, early dead St. Petersburg artist Larisa Kuznetsova, as well as the original works of the Moscow artist Boris Bromshtein. These gifts came from close relatives of talented artists.
An important contribution to the funds of the beloved museum was made by Kaluga residents. The museum’s collection of works by the gifted, somewhat mysterious Kaluga artist Viktor Ostroumov has replenished with another female portrait. He was kept in the family of Kaluga R.V. Eliseeva, whose father personally knew the artist. The museum received three colorful painted Easter eggs as a gift from Tamara Tanenkova, a wonderful master of decorative art. This is not the first time that the Kaluga writer and artist Sergei Vasilchikov presents his schedule to the museum. Ten watercolors captured his artistic impressions from trips to Italy, Germany, and Central Asia.
It should be noted Moscow collectors Yu.V. Shestakova and V.A. Lenivtseva. The first of them gave the museum an illustration for the Old Testament of 1538 by Hans Holbein the Younger, the second - several expressive wartime drawings made by a native of Kaluga region, artist Boris Shustov.
A particularly valuable contribution to the museum’s collection was made by our compatriot, now living in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Marina Alexandrovna Gershelman. She is the widow of a naval officer S.S. Aksakov, direct descendant of the writer S.T. Aksakova. Wanting to honor the memory of her husband, who was born on Kaluga land, M.A. Gershelman transferred a large collection of engravings to S.S. Aksakova. This collection is dedicated to representatives of the Romanov Imperial House; engravings have historical and artistic significance for studying the history and culture of Russia.
The holiday “Giving Day” is a great opportunity to express sincere gratitude to people who have contributed to the noble cause of helping the national culture. After the presentation, a small concert will be held. Vocal and instrumental works will be performed by musicians from the Children’s Art School No. 2 named after S. Tulikova.
The museum is open from 10.00 to 18.00
Monday is the day off. The last Friday of the month is a sanitary day.
