At my anniversary exhibition, I present works that reflect my long career in photography — these are portraits of my contemporaries that I met, made friends with, loved, with whom I walked and walk through life. Each of them is a personality, and therefore in photographs I tried to show the inner world, the most characteristic feature of my heroes, their feelings, feelings, psychological state.
Like most photographers, my love for photography appeared even in early childhood, when my father was fond of photography, shot large plates on a plate, displayed them and printed them in the bathroom of a communal apartment. I helped him and rejoiced at the secret of transforming the plate into photographs, thus comprehending the basics of the creative process. At the age of 14, my parents gave me a brand new camera “Youth”, with which I took my first photos. From that moment I began to take pictures a lot. He shot at school, in the classroom, while traveling, trying to convey the emotions of his peers, friends and their relationship to each other..
In 1964, after graduating from school, I went to study at the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), but I did not part with the camera. I shot everything that seemed interesting and everyone with whom I spoke closely. Photography sharpened my perception of the environment. He began to participate in annual exhibitions as part of the spring festival at the Moscow Aviation Institute. The prizes and first places awarded to me at these exhibitions claimed in my mind that photographing is my calling! After graduation, he remained at the Moscow Aviation Institute and continued to engage in scientific activities. While working at the department, he entered the Institute of Journalism at the Faculty of Photojournalism, where there was amazing communication with VGIK teachers, venerable photojournalists of that time - Dmitry Baltermants, Vasily Malyshev.
Science, photography, great social activity - everything merged into a single whole, but photography always brought the joy of creativity. During this period, I shot a lot, especially people. I wanted to convey their feelings, experiences, capture the unique moment of life - then I was more a photojournalist. So there was a series of photographs taken during the Youth Festival, which was held in Moscow in 1980. I wanted to convey the joy, kindness and sincerity of youth from different countries, to reflect the atmosphere of an unprecedented holiday. Then for a while I became a special photographer from the Central Committee of the Komsomol and then my photos entered the final festival newsletter.
Fate gave me meetings with many talented people representing the culture of the time. I wanted to convey their individuality in the photographs, open the inner world and at the same time express my attitude - surprise and admiration for these people. So there were photos of Alla Pugacheva at her concert and her meeting with Leonid Utesov, Arkady Raikin, Evgeny Yevtushenko, artists - Victor Popkov, Tatyana Ivanova and many others. Work with artists especially attracted me and gave me great pleasure, I even worried about the smell of paints in the workshop. Passion for painting aroused the desire in his own works to convey the diversity and beauty of the world. This is partly reflected in my landscape photographs, which I represented at many exhibitions, including my personal exhibition Sea of My Senses in 2011 (in the Tushino Exhibition Hall).
Filming on Victory Day near the Bolshoi Theater is my annual creative event. I wanted to catch the uniqueness of the moment, in the faces of veterans to convey the courage and heroism of people who went through the war, and the gratitude of the current generation. Now a lot of material has been collected dedicated to the Victory Day, which is partially included in the photo album of the Art section - photo TSHR "MEMORY". This photo album was released this year as part of the Porokh and TSKhR Experimental Creative Workshop with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, created on the basis of the work of members of the Art Photo section, exhibited at annual exhibitions in the Tushino Exhibition Hall in 2010 - 2016
My photos were printed in the institute newspaper Propeller, in the newspapers Komsomolskaya Pravda, Moskovsky Komsomolets, and in the magazine Soviet Photo.
The faces of people are an amazing, wonderful world that I wanted to show, convey and save in my photographs. At the exhibition, I show portraits of my contemporaries with whom I walked through life in happiness and love. I am glad that many of my photographs can be seen at exhibitions in Russia and abroad, in the catalogs “Art Today”, “Russian Art”, “ARS LONGA”, in published photo albums, they are stored in family archives. So my work leaves a good mark in the hearts and souls of people. I hope that in my photographs I was able to convey my attitude to a world that surprises and pleases.
Communication with my colleagues in photography always gives me a new additional impulse, new topics and ideas. I am happy to be in the wonderful creative team of photo artists of the Art - photo section of the Creative Union of Russian Artists!
