The concert on December 5 will include all the largest representatives of the post-war era - the adherent of “new simplicity” Henrik Guretsky, the inventor of the latest polyphony, Vitold Lutoslavsky, a rarely-heard Polish emigrant who lived in England, Andrzej Panufnik, Zygmunt Krause and Krzysztof Penderackim many times in Russia, many Serotsky.
Poland has long-standing musical ties with Russia. Polish masters stood at the cradle of new Russian music in the “rebel” XVII century. Interest in Polish music reached a particular intensity in the era of the Khrushchev thaw and later, when a stream of notes and records from Poland poured into Russia, each copy of which was rubbed into holes. Indeed, in Poland, unlike Russia, there was no ban on avant-garde techniques and aesthetics. The process of the 17th century was repeated - the Soviet composers again began to learn from the Polish.
But the socialist camp, which included Poland and Russia, collapsed, and Polish music actually became for our listener terra incognita. The Studio for New Music ensemble has become the main conductor of Polish music of the 20th and 21st centuries in Russia. The team works closely with the Polish Cultural Center and organizes concerts of new Polish music every year, often with the participation of prominent Polish artists.
