"Poetry in the Hall. Actual Practices" Summer program of poetic evenings in the gallery "Peresvetov Lane" Automatic translate
June 19, at 19:00 in the gallery "Peresvet Lane" begins a cycle of evenings "Poetry in the Hall. Actual practices. " The program opens with a lecture by Galina Rymbu, "Contemporary Poetry: Communities, Forms, and Approaches to Reading."
Program “Poetry in the Hall. Actual Practices ” is a new initiative of the“ Peresvetov Lane ”gallery, aimed at familiarizing the wide cultural community with the field of modern poetry. The format of the evenings involves reading poems and discussions on relevant topics that are addressed in the texts of the poets. Participants in the program will tell not only about the principles of their writing and issues of concern to them, but also about various independent literary projects and the initiatives with which they are associated. The cycle will be interesting to humanities, artists, novice authors and everyone who loves poetry and wants to know how it looks today.
Modern poetic practices often intertwine with other areas of the arts (actionism, video art), as well as with various critics - political, social, feminist, etc. But more often than not, poetry carries out criticism of perception, showing us that those things that we already used to seeing in one way, today they look very different. Moreover, it turns perception itself, forms new sensual gaps in our experiences and knowledge about the world. The idea of the poetic field as marginal and underground is becoming obsolete, and today poetry is again becoming capable of an independent presence in a public field, to coincide with its time.
Schedule upcoming meetings:
June 19 - Galina Rymbu “Modern poetry: communities, forms, approaches to reading”
June 26 - Anna Tolkacheva, Andrei Cherkasov "Poetry and contemporary art"

July 10 - Kirill Medvedev, Pavel Arsenyev “Poetry and Politics”
Further, evenings are planned on the following topics: poetry and disaster, poetry and politics, poetry and new sensuality, poetry and actionism, poetry and feminism, poetry: publicity and privacy, poetry and cinema, poetry of small forms.
In the first introductory lecture, Galina Rimbu will talk about modern poetry in general and how to understand it.
Actual literary practices always require a new approach to reading the text, most often the untrained reader will have the question: "how to understand these verses?" The answer to this question lies not only in the consistent restoration of the picture of the development of Russian poetry of the 20th century (which often does not happen in the study of modern literature at the humanities faculties), but also in the assimilation of new reading experience, where direct sensory perception intersects with the experience of critical theory and, how it turns out one does not oppose the other.
We will try to trace in which directions modern poetry has evolved from the "Lianozovo school" to the present day (including young poetry and such directions as media poetry, poetic actionism, etc.). The lecture will also discuss the modern literary field and its institutions (magazines, almanacs, curatorial projects, directions) and how to find modern poetry outside the bookstore and amateur sites.
