The Erarta Museum presents meditation experiments with an analogue photograph of the American photographer Peter Miller.
Peter Miller on the technique of "photo-engraving":
“Photo engraving refers to the 600-year tradition of intaglio printing, which is one of the most sophisticated, lively and expressive forms of fine art. The technique of photo engraving, which has developed over a long period in the history of art, allows you to achieve the amazing effect of three-dimensionality, combining the spontaneity of the current moment and the laborious process of making a printing form. Images created by transferring ink onto etching paper from an etched copper plate are instantly imprinted in the mind and memory of the viewer. When I first saw the originals of 19th century photo engravings in 1991, I realized that I was always looking for something similar to this technique. And to this day I do not cease to discover all the new opportunities in it. "
The exhibition at the Erarta Museum will feature more than 50 photo prints created by an American author over the past 15 years.
