Get inspired! Dreaming Fantasy! In the craft workshops of the Museum of Russian Impressionism we will make art from everything in a row, here even the most ordinary things are material for creating art objects. We will assemble a magical kaleidoscope with magical patterns, a balloon with a basket for the travel of your beloved teddy bear, and a sculpture almost like that of Pablo Picasso. We will glue, cut, tear, sprinkle with sequins and confetti, decorate and sculpt.
What will we do and what will we learn? Our main goal is to find inspiration on weekdays and to awaken in ourselves an unbridled desire to create. Classes will be devoted to the search for beauty in both the ordinary and the unusual: not only traditional paints and pencils, but also water, cones, twigs, sparkles, cardboard, bottles and much more will serve as materials for creating art objects. The main tasks of the workshops are to release a creative genius, learn to enjoy the creative process, feel love for color and enjoy tactile, sound and visual contact with a variety of materials.
December 1st. Magic ball. What could be better than snow on the first day of winter? We will celebrate the onset of the cold season: blind a polar bear or a snowman, collect snow from sparkles, find a suitable glass vessel and turn it into a magical winter ball.
> December 8th. Snow spray. Let’s try to convey the beauty of falling snow: take brushes, white paint and learn how to make snow splashes! Fall asleep with snow at home, trees and everything around. Oh! It seems that a forest deer ran near the house! How to sketch its dark traces against the background of whitening snowdrifts? Let’s experiment with the effects of fingerprints in the snow from paint. Add some cotton smoke to the snowy chimney, and the winter landscape is ready!
December 15th. Halloween 2019! How unusual to depict the usual New Year’s numbers? Find inspiration in the collages of the American artist Jasper Johns, who often used numbers in his compositions. Let’s send 2, 0, 1 and 9 on a trip on paper, combine them with pieces of books, magazines, stars and bright colors.
December 22nd. Time capsule. Recall what good happened to us this year, try to pick up objects that could tell about this, and draw the most important moments of the outgoing year. From the resulting signs of memories, we will create a time capsule in the form of a Christmas tree toy, placing all objects inside a transparent form and adding bright sparkles, sequins and ribbons.
December 29th. Yolok-Pollock! No “born in the forest” and “fluffy beauties”! We cancel the traditional round dances and rhymes on the stool. We will include The Beatles in the workshop and create our New Year trees in the style of great artists. Let’s look at the reproductions of Pablo Picasso, David Burliuk, Jackson Pollock, Vasily Kandinsky and Andy Warhol, and then let the imagination fly: we will spray paint, cut, assemble, glue, tape on tape and sprinkle with sparkles.
