The first in the Far East art residence "Dawn" is recruiting artists from around the world Automatic translate
Starting November 15, the ZARYA Center for Contemporary Art will provide artists from anywhere in Russia and the world with the opportunity to live and work in Vladivostok for two weeks or one month on the terms of their own art project .
The art residence on the basis of the ZARYA Center for Contemporary Art is the first place in the Far East for intensive artistic exchange and an important step towards the development of the local artistic environment and the revitalization of the cultural landscape. The key task of the residence is to support professionals in the field of contemporary art.
“The art residence provides an opportunity to satisfy two of the most important needs of contemporary artists - to implement projects and establish professional ties,” said Alisa Bagdonayte, curator of the Center for Contemporary Art. - We hope that the project will become a tonic injection of creative forces in Vladivostok. This will help unleash the potential of the city as a place of sale for artists who will receive institutional support here. It is important that such a project gives an equally powerful impetus to both those who come and those who live here. ”
Artists working in the genre of painting, graphics, photo, video, sculpture, installation, performance, choreography, theater, music and street art are invited to participate in the art residence at the ZARYA Center for Contemporary Art. Priority is given to projects focused on working with a local context.
The duration of the residence is a choice of 2 weeks or 1 month. The participant is provided with a free studio for living and an equipped workshop in the territory of the ZARYA Center for Contemporary Art, as well as partially paid materials. The residence is ready to fully or partially cover air travel and / or train tickets, as well as offer grants to successful candidates.
