Personal exhibition of Yulia Sopina "Left to yourself" Automatic translate
The heroes of Yulia Sopina’s paintings, "left to themselves," are enthusiastically busy and do not suspect that they have become an object of observation. Captured in their spontaneity, children continue simple games or deliberate posing. In these works, one feels genuine sincerity and openness, a mysterious world is revealed, where epic and the moment “here and now”, the real and the supernatural, the earthly and the sublime, are combined.
Most of the portraits and genre scenes shown at the exhibition have a real prototype in their history. Still lifes and landscapes are presented from the position of suspense, when the whole space seems to be electrified in an invisible presence, ready to turn the story in an unexpected direction. This unpredictability and some kind of visual inconvenience can also be caused by an overly elongated or rounded format of paintings, but most importantly - complex color combinations and work with light. Light as a device turns out to be practically living plastic matter, the gradation of which simulates the relationship between the important and the secondary.
The exhibition will run until September 20. ABRAMOVA GALLERY is located in the DAA Architecture and Design Center at 3E Krasnogvardeyskaya Square. 3rd floor, Е3-130. Free admission. Tuesday-Saturday: from 12:00 to 19:00.
