We invite you to a personal exhibition of Rustem Stakhursky from March 2 to 30 at the Central House of Journalists at 8A Nikitsky Boulevard, Moscow. The exhibition will feature the artist’s latest works on Crimean nature.
Rustem Stakhursky is a brilliant contemporary artist working in a manner of impressionism. Russian impressionism was born in the late 19th century on the basis of the French movement and immediately gained a wide circle of fans. The most striking masters of this direction of painting are Konstantin Korovin, Boris Kustodiev, Valentin Serov, Igor Grabar, Perth Konchalovsky. Their names are known to all lovers of painting. And although soon Russian impressionism began to be supplanted by the avant-garde, contemporary artists continue to work in this genre, actively experimenting with color, conveying with their help their mood and state of mind.
All the artist’s paintings, whether landscapes or still lifes, are permeated by the bright Crimean sun. Rustem Stakhursky - master of the landscape. The plots that we see on the artist’s canvases are taken from the life of his native Crimea, where he was born and raised. The warm and gentle colors of nature under the spring sun illuminating the streets of Gurzuf, Yalta, Simeiz, simple rural houses, remain in memory forever. And you catch yourself thinking that you are walking with the author along his favorite places, feeling the aroma of blooming wisteria, magnolias, peaches, tulips and just wildflowers (works by the Yalta courtyard, Wisteria blossoms, Yalta Embankment in spring, View of Ai-Petri and others). Summer changes colors on the artist’s canvases, they become brighter, more saturated and you feel like the midday heat. Autumn brings warm, sunny tones to the artist’s palette and extraordinary charm (Autumn Gurzuf, Crimean vineyards).
A special theme in the artist’s work is marine. The sea is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the master. Sometimes it is calm, as if peaceful and affectionate, but more often, on the contrary, formidable and stormy. This exhibition presents only some of the latest marine stories. But the sea is practically present in any picture of the artist, whether it be a landscape or a still life.
Still life is one of Rustem Stakhursky’s favorite genres, always looking like a bright, bright fairy tale. When you look at its flowers, you feel their aroma. Fruits - apples, pears, watermelons, pomegranates, seem so ripe and juicy that you involuntarily feel their sweet, tart taste. However, very rarely we see in the artist’s paintings a classical composition of this genre. Most often, this is a still life and landscapes, as a whole. For example, Still Life on the Window, Roses by the Sea, Spring Bouquet, On the Veranda, and other works presented at the exhibition.
We wish you a pleasant trip to the fabulous nature of Crimea with Rustem Stakhursky!
